Alicia Shahaf was born in Argentina, lives and works in Israel.
Her body of work is based mostly on photography, consists of series that deal with issues of gender and feminism, memory and loss and the connection to nature.
She explores the broad meaning of the term “photography”, having a dialogue with it, always checking if it is the right tool to express the ideas of her artistic work.
Shahaf graduated from Camera Obscura Art School – Photography department (1995) and Curators Seminar (2003)
Shahaf’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad including the Bat Yam Museum of Art (2007), “Fresh Paint 2”, Contemporary Art Fair Tel Aviv (2010) Museum on the Seam (2018), The Karlovac City Museum, Croatia, Haifa Museum of Art (2017) and others.
Her works are found in private collections in Israel and abroad.
